2 sleeps to go.... If I can sleep!

What a day, it's hideous to think that a plane travelling in EU approved 'safe' airspace was actually over a war zone and close enough to be targeted, accidentally or otherwise? We will be doing our best not to share the MH17 news with Jack and Amy at this stage. I think it's too much to process for all of us with Bryan already having travelled, me about to leave and the longest trip away from them yet.

This evening we found out a colleague Howard Horder who retired in 2010 and his wife Susan were passengers on that flight, and our hearts go out to their family for this horrific loss. Howard was a great bloke with a cheeky sense of humour and Susan a lovely person.

Bryan and I are travelling separately, which means that if tragedy should strike twice in as many days our darling children would not be left alone, though I know our amazing family and friends would never allow that. Now I need to STOP watching the news it's all too horrible to imagine what could have or can be. Life is a gift let's enjoy it.

On a brighter note a wonderful nature playground being finished at school tomorrow before I fly out Sunday, the culmination of 2 years plotting lobbying and planning- can't wait to see the bright shiny smiles on our kids.
